What are Catchall Email Addresses?

Answer

A catchall email address receives all the email that is sent to non-existent email accounts for a domain. For example, if you have two email addresses - \n bob@mydomain.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and \n sue@mydomain.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and someone sends an email to \n frank@mydomain.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , there are two possibilities for what will happen to it. If you don't have a catchall address set up, the mail sent to \n frank@mydomain.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it would bounce back to the sender with a notice that no such user exists at mydomain.com. If you have a catchall email address set up, however, you would receive the email sent to \n frank@mydomain.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . You can set your catchall address to be any email address you control, either at mydomain.com or elsewhere.
