What are Protected Directories?

Answer

Protected directories are directories that people browsing your site can only see by entering a username and password. For example, if they visit the protected directory mydomain.com/secret, they would be prompted for a username and password. If they supply the correct information, they can view the contents of the directory. If not, they will get an "Unauthorized" error.
